WHAT IS CARBON-FREE CAMPUS?
Carbon-Free Campus, CC is dedicated to helping schools fight climate change by reducing their carbon footprint. CC helps schools make a difference for the environment and our own health.
WHY?
- Climate change is real – just look around: fires, heatwaves, storms, rising seas
- We have depended on coal, oil and gas and their production harms our environment and our health from added greenhouse gases and from the air, water and soil pollution
- Nature can no longer absorb all the CO2 that we are producing.
- Deforestation to feed livestock, plastics, and our waste worsens climate change and pollutes our world
- With existing solutions we can now change from an extractive, exploitative world to a regenerative pollution-free renewable powered world in harmony with nature
Therefore, we need to fight climate change and reduce our CO2 emissions.
